Smokanut
aka OOLAcroixtail No. 9 (from a series of cocktails combing OOLA spirits and LaCroix sparkling waters)
2 oz. OOLA Smoked Whiskey
.5 oz. Star Anise-infused turbinado simple syrup*
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Coconut LaCroix
Shake Whiskey, syrup, and bitters over ice. Strain into an ice-filled glass and top with Coconut LaCroix.
*In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup turbinado sugar and 1 cup water to a boil; simmer until the sugar is dissolved, about 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and add 3-4 whole star anise pods. Let cool, then refrigerate overnight. Strain the syrup into an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 weeks.
